Origins of VPAG

The Victoria Park action group was started in 2002 by people living near the park who wanted to improve and preserve its facilities.

Initially, the only purpose of the group was to raise funds for the new play equipment. In 2003, its aims were widened to include a more general maintenance and rehabilitation of the park.

VPAG is now a formulary constituted voluntary group with around 100 members and some challenging goals for the improvement of Victoria Park.

Working together with Bristol city council, the police and youth workers, VPAG is improving the facilities and infrastructure, discouraging crime and vandalism and promoting legitimate use of the park by all members of the community.

We have achieved a lot, but we need your help to bring about some dramatic changes we have planned for the park in the next few years.
